Malaysia PM Opens GIFF 2025, Global Delegates Discuss Future of Islamic Finance

KUALA LUMPUR (13 October 2025): Over 800 delegates from ASEAN, the OIC region and beyond convened at Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia, for the Global Islamic Finance Forum (GIFF) 2025, themed “Bridging Tradition and Tomorrow – Advancing Business, Empowering Communities.”

Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, officiated the forum, setting the stage for discussions on investment flows, harmonising Shariah standards, sustainability and climate impact, and building a future-ready financial ecosystem.

GIFF’s networking sessions saw active bilateral meetings and exchanges among delegates across exhibition spaces featuring fintech, banking and Islamic-finance institutions. Day two of the forum continues tomorrow with sessions on investment strategies, artificial technology, halal trade and food security, and takaful innovation as Malaysia seeks to deepen its role in global Islamic-finance leadership.
